Dr. Kelly is an interventional spine physician focused on non-operative spine care and electrodiagnostics. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a fellow and diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Kelly received his B.A. in psychology from Emory University, where he was an All-American in soccer. He received his medical doctorate from Medical College of Georgia and completed his medical residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University.
Prior to joining Atlanta Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Kelly worked at Resurgens Orthopaedics from 2001 to 2020. At Resurgens, Dr. Kelly was the Medical Director of Resurgens Spine Center from 2007- 2020 and the Director of Resurgens Safety Council from 2013 until 2020. He served as the Chief Medical officer of a pain management company from 2018 until 2020. He served as the Chief Medical Officer for an international pharmaceutical company from 2020 until 2022.

Dr. Kelly is a published author of two books: What I've Learned from You: The Lessons of Life Taught to a Doctor by His Patients, and Observations From a Life Lived in Medicine. He is also the author of numerous published scientific journal articles across various disciplines in prestigious peer-reviewed journals including "Clinical Infectious Diseases," "PLOS Pathogens," "Frontiers of Immunology," "Nature Communications," Journal of Translational Autoimmunity," and "International Journal of Infectious Diseases."
