Nurse Manager

As such, we are seeking a nurse manager in a FT capacity to join our team. As health care continues to evolve, the clinical expertise of nurses is more important that ever. Nurse Managers are registered nurses that are relied upon for their professional judgment and critical thinking skills as well as their ability to effectively manage production, patient safety and other leadership responsibilities. They may work closely with the surgical patient, family members, and other health care professionals. They help plan, implement, and evaluate treatment of the patient and oversee the management of that care by their clinical team. Operating Room Nurse Managers directly affect the quality of care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive in the operating room by setting directives for the surgical staff. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment in the OR suite, and integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum with other clinical care teams in the surgery center.

Required Skills:

Education

  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing; Must hold a GA nursing license.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Two (2) years experience in surgery management that must include pre-op, intra-op, post-op care with total joint and spine experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications/ Registrations
  • BLS & ACLS Certification required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Independent decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Supervises: All staff in Pre-op, PACU, PAT Contacts/Interacts with: Physicians, all facility staff, Board of Managers, patients and families.

POSITION COMPETENCIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Competencies and responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of hospital-wide and department-specific standards. The department specific standards include the competencies appropriate to the ages of the customer served. The employee''s competencies are evaluated on an on-going basis, and formally documented at least annually as part of the Performance Appraisal process.
